After several delays due to heavy rain, the first half of the indoor slab of the Athletic Center is being poured.
This piece of equipment is a "laser guided crete machine" that levels and smooths the fresh concrete mix.
The concrete (or "mud" as they call it in the field) is being pumped in to the right of the machine.
This ingenious machine can move in any direction. When smoothing the "mud", 4 square "stabilizing feet" are set down.
This worker is really getting a "work out" today!
It will take a total of about 4 hours to pump in and "crete" the 300 + cubic yards of "mud".
The other half of the slab is scheduled to be poured on Tuesday, September, 23rd.
The men to the right of the "mud-man" are using poles with hooks to reach into the "mud" and lift up the 1/4" thick wire mesh, to embed it in the mud.
